Japan’s Daiso-Sangyo to Set Up Shop in Vancouver
Daiso-Sangyo Co, a Japanese-based operator of 100-yen stores, plans to open a two-dollar store in Vancouver. The 2,500 sq. metres store, a joint venture with Fairchild Group, a Vancouver-based real estate and media conglomerate, will be open in December and will be selling 40,000 items for C$2.00. Braintech Inc Technology Selected by Japanese Auto Manufacturer
Braintech Inc, a BC-based company specializing in 3D-Vision Guided Robotics, announced that Marubeni Corporation of Japan, its Asian partner, has installed its first production 3D-VGR system for Hino Motors Ltd in Tokyo, Japan, an affiliate of the Toyota Corporation. Canadian 3D Technology Available in Japan

CAE Wins C$16 Million Contract with Indian Navy for Control Systems
CAE Inc, a Montreal-based provider of integrated training solutions and advanced simulation and controls technologies to civil aviation, military and marine customers, has signed a contract worth C$16 million with the Indian navy. CAE will provide integration and control systems for three of the navy’s new landing ships. CAE’s Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS), which allows for propulsion and damage control, is already being used by 18 navies worldwide.
