  • Event Report: Round Table Lunch on Smart City Projects

    We are very happy to report that our very first Round Table Lunch on Smart City Projects wrapped up on Thursday, September 27. The goal of this event was to bring in industry experts from Canada and Japan to initiate a dialogue and identify business opportunities and areas of collaboration. The event began with presentations on the proposed Waterfront Toronto/Sidewalk Labs and First Gulf /East Harbour projects, followed by presentations by Mizuho Bank and Obayashi Canada.  The discussion was then opened up for comments by the 25 participants representing technology and service providers as well as government officials. We are happy to hear how we can help your business in this field.

    The Japan Society would like to thank all the participants and speakers as well as Torys LLP for sponsoring this event. We are especially grateful for Mr. Jonathan Weisz at Torys LLP for his leadership and support.

    カナダ食品検査庁は9月17日、トランス脂肪酸の原因となる部分水素化油脂（Partially Hydrogenated Oils：PHOs）の食品への使用禁止に関する規制を開始したことを通知した。ただし、同日以前に製造された部分水素化油脂を含む商品については、向こう2年間に限り販売を続けることが認められている。
